I have always
been a DIY kind-of-girl at heart. My mom and dad did everything themselves – house
repairs, craft projects... I am pretty sure my mom founded decoupaging – so I
learned at a young age to roll up my sleeves and do it myself.
My real DIY
journey started after we bought our home in Columbia, SC. It was 2011 and
selling our home in Raleigh, NC in a bad market hurt. So when it came to a
decorating budget well, I had pennies. I started reading DIY blogs and learning
ticks and trades from other AUH-mazing DIYers. I spent my weekends at thrift
stores buying used, but good quality, furniture and accessories. My first piece led
to room after room. It quickly turned into a passion!

I learned a
lot of stuff on my own by just trying…and failing epically (#NailedIt). I also
learned you can’t be afraid to mess up otherwise you will never be successful! The
journey has proven to me that I really can do anything: handle big power tools,
make my very own kitchen table, and decorate a beautiful, loving house on a
budget!
I am a southern girl who has come to the
conclusion that I still don't have it figured out...not even close. I am a
proud wife to @RyalCurtis and mom to Hailey Marie (otherwise known as Hay Bug).
I am blessed with a wonderful family, fabulous friends and a great job in Communications
& Marketing. I am a compulsive multi-tasker, volunteer & lover of good
wine - heck all wine. I am a Go Getter that hates to lose. I love my city of Columbia,
SC and Gamecock football.
Firm believer that "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens
me." - Phil 4:13
