My First 'Real' Project

I had to pull this one out of the vault for you guys. This is the first piece of furniture I refinished when we moved into our new house {circa 2011}.

I found this beauty while thrifting at His House - one of my favorite. Most would think it’s a mess, but I saw potential. I mean look at the bones of this thing!
I wish I had photos of the process....and boy was it process. I put hours of blood {literally}, sweat & tears into this piece. I removed hardware and cleaned, sanded, primed, painted, distressed, Stained, sealed, but the hardware back on....and whola! Finished product.
Look at the detailing on this thing!
Best part is, it is still a part of our home and our everyday life! This piece serves as a place to put our keys, bags, you know all the ‘real’ stuff you have laying around your home before guest come over.
It was an awesome learning experience and hopefully something we will use for many, many years to come.
