I found this beauty at my office. It has been sitting in a corner for months and I asked if anyone would mind if I took it home. After getting laughed at, I threw it in my car with 'a vision'. It took me about 15 minutes to take the shade off and spray paint the base a flat white. After it dried.....Bam! Awesome new lamp for my living room. Even the husband liked it.
So don't discard someone else's trash, turn it into your treasure. And most of all NEVER underestimate the power of spray paint.
